November Shows, Clowning Workshop, New Logos

The streets are getting even Sillier

Hello! And welcome back to the next edition of the Silly Street Newsletter, where we bring you all of the best comedy events happening in and around the Willy Street Neighborhood.

I am sending this one out a little earlier than usual because there are 2 great and unique events coming up shortly that I want you to know about.

I’m also going to start sharing some of my favorite comedy from Madison and Wisconsin Comedians. Like this Roast Battle, between Andrew Rynning and Ben O’Connell at the Comedy Cabin in Janesville!

If you’re new here, subscribe below for (1) email a month about upcoming comedy activities in the Willy Street Area.

Capitol Comedy Hour

Flyer for Capitol Comedy Hour

The first, Capitol Comedy Hour, the Halloween Extravaganza. If you’re not familiar with Capitol Comedy Hour, it is Madison’s very own late night variety show. Like Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter before them, Andrew Rynning and Matt Jordan bring the fun of late night to the basement at Madison’s on King Street. Sketch, Stand-up, Music, Improv, this shows got it all, even the infamous late night monologue, ripped straight from the headlines. It’s fun, it’s always unique, and it’s this Saturday, with live piano starting at 8pm, and the show starting at 9pm

Peanut Butter Clown Jam

Have you ever wanted to try clowning? Peanut Butter Clown Jam is the perfect place to get your feet wet. It’s a clown workshop and open mic put on by Grace Jung and Lauren Cahillane, where you can explore new ideas, and learn about yourself as both a clown and performer. No prior clown experience necessary!

The first one is Sunday November 3rd!

Comedy at Working Draft

Comedy at Working Draft is hands down my favorite show. Each month, I’m joined by some of the Midwest’s best comics at Working Draft Beer Company for a classic stand-up showcase. There's usually a food truck, always great beer, and of course, the comedy never disappoints.

This month, it is November 14th, at 7:30pm.

This is a FREE show, with a $10 suggested donation to support the comics. So come on out, have a beer or 3, and support great local comedy in the Willy Street Neighborhood.

Silly Street Open Mic

Interested in trying comedy yourself? There’s not better place for veterans to hone their act, or for beginners to start than the Silly Street Open Mic. Every Monday at 8pm, we pack into the cozy upstairs at Gib’s on Willy Street. This intimate venue is a lot of fun, and a great place to get up close and personal with your favorite local comics.

Rewards Cards for Audience Members

There’s an audience punch card where you can get rewards like free tickets to shows, drinks and pizza, and comic rewards for consistency like longer stage time. Check it out, and learn more at our website; sillystreetcomedy.com and follow us on Facebook and Instagram @sillystreetcomedy as well!

Atlas Improv Drop-in Workshop
